Lincoln residents searching shopping aisles to find their name on a Coke bottle rejoice, as the Share a Coke Tour is heading to the city centre.

The Share a Coke Campaign sees cans and bottles of Coca Cola emblazoned with 250 of the most popular names in Great Britain.

Many people though cannot locate their name, so the Share a Coke Tour will provide drinkers with the chance to get their name, or a friend’s, on a free 250ml bottle of Coke or Coke Zero.

The Share a Coke vending machines will be located in Lincoln City Square on July 19 between 10am and 6pm.

Jon Woods, General Manager for Coca-Cola Great Britain and Ireland, said: “This summer’s Share a Coke campaign sparked the nation’s imagination.

“We’ve already seen thousands of people engaging with it; sharing their bottles online or tweeting their excitement when they find a bottle with the name of a friend or loved one on it.

“We are delighted to be able to now take this campaign on the road so that everyone can have the opportunity to create a personalised bottle of Coke with their best friend or family member’s name on it.”

A local construction company has been contracted to redevelop the Monks Building at Lincoln College, in a multi-million project.

Multi-disciplinary consultancy Waldeck, who offer a range of design and engineering services, were appointed to work on the £4.5 million redevelopment of the college building.

The Monks Road building will be refurbished and given an extension, while a fully glazed, double height atrium will be constructed and used as a new student entrance.

As well as the refurbishment, a new Learning Resource Centre will be built on the newly extended second floor.

Waldeck Engineering Manager Andrew Foottit said: “Waldeck have a lot of experience in the education sector, having completed projects for Huntingtower Community Primary Academy, North Lyndsey College, The Deepings School and Bishop Burton College.

“We first started working with Lincoln College in March 2012 and we’re pleased to be continuing our relationship with them.”

Waldeck will also work on the remodelling of the former police station and magistrates court on Appelton Gate in Newark, becoming Lincoln College’s new piano school.

Construction of the site will begin September this year looking to be completed by the start of the academic year in September 2014.
