A private dental practice in Spalding has come under fire from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) for not providing safe and well-led care, but the owner and his team believe the latest inspection report is “unfair”.

Crescent Dental Practice, run by Dr Baber Khan, provides private treatment for adults and children.

Richmond Medical Centre in North Hykeham has seen its rating upgraded by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) from ‘Inadequate’ to ‘Requires Improvement,’ but it remains in special measures.

CQC carried out an inspection in May 2023 in response to concerns it received about the service based on Moor Lane. The findings, and the ‘Inadequate’ rating, were published in a report in October last year, which the surgery felt no longer reflected their current position, so they wanted a re-inspection.
