With only 23 days left until its grand opening to the public, recruitment and building work is well underway at Tokyo Lincoln on Silver Street.
During the recruitment process there were over 240 applicants that were going for 80 vacancies at the club. All the slots have nearly been filled except for a few promotional staff.
A quarter of the total tickets which were sold in advance went in record time, in under 30 minutes. The other 600 will be available on the door and are predicted to be in very high demand.
The building is starting to take shape with the decking for the outdoor terrace in full swing and many of the toilet cubicles fitted.
The club will be running two trial nights prior to its August 26 opening for friends and family.
Nigel Holliday, Business Development Director for Tokyo Industries, said: “We have nearly sorted out the regular seven-day night listing and are currently in the process of securing more live acts.
“The club is really starting to come along now but it is still a building site.
“We have all the furniture and sound systems built off of the premises and then everything comes in at the last minute. The stage and the bars are really starting to take form and we are running to schedule.
“Moda will be a regular event and take place every Friday at the end of the month. They have secured headliners for the next three months.
“I cannot divulge who or when, but we have some big acts planned”
