A local office furniture supplier, TPS Office Furniture, is set to open a new showroom on Tillbridge Lane, Scampton, July 13.

The company, which began trading in 2007, was solely operated from home, with this showroom being the company’s first showroom. The refit, which took a total of six weeks, cost £10,000.

TPS Office Furniture have a large customer base and has supplied Lincoln Minster School and the independent printers The Danwood Group Ltd.

Owner of TPS Office Furniture Ted Sidebottom said: “Business has been very good, so when the right premises came on offer at the right time, I had to take this chance to expand.

“I have been trading for four and a half years, since then the business has grown considerably. The company needs these new premises so that we can grow even further.

“The showroom is currently open, but the official open day will be tomorrow (July 13). There will be food and drink and everyone is welcome to come down for a glimpse into what we do. “

Four people have been taken to hospital after an arson attack on a house on Scorer Street, July 7.

At around 1.30am, police were called to a property in the area after reports of a fire.

Two ambulances were on the scene. Police found a 26-year-old woman and her three children; aged four, two and one.

All managed to escape the house and are being treated for smoke inhalation. They are expected to be discharged later today.

Neighbours were found at the scene trying to extinguish the fire with buckets of water.

Police are treating the case as arson, and believe the fire was started at the front door.

— Update 1: Police have arrested a 24-year-old man and 22-year-old woman, both local, in connection with the incident.

They are currently helping with enquiries at Lincoln Police Station.
