A popular Waddington pub will close its doors for the last time today.

The Horse & Jockey, a traditional English village pub on High Street, Waddington, parts of which date back to the 15th century, will close today.

Landlord Dave Densham, and his partner Sue have been in charge of the pub for the last three years.

During World War II, the pub was also used by local RAF crews when home and has served local airmen and residents since.

Owners have been contacted about the closure, but did not respond by the time of publishing.

A spokesperson posted on the pub’s Facebook page: “It is with great regret that we shall be closing the doors of The Horse & Jockey at the end of business on Thursday, June 7.

“Thank you so much for your support over the past three years, it really has been a pleasure.

“We are having a leaving/closing down party for the rest of the day.

“We will be reducing the price of draught lager and Guinness to £3 a pint and all ales down to £2.50 per pint.

“Come down and see us! Lets try to drink the bar dry!”
