The Society is a Registered Charity with almost 600 members, many in Lincolnshire but also throughout the UK and worldwide. Run mainly by volunteers it has interests in the Local and Industrial history as well as the Archaeology of the Historic County of Lincolnshire, from the Humber to the Nene. It maintains this through a variety of publications, conferences, programmes of meetings, activities and visits. The Society also runs a bookshop selling Lincolnshire and County related publications as well as second hand books.
