Lincoln Monopoly stuck for ideas for Old Kent Road

Last call: The makers of the Lincoln edition of the Monopoly board game say there have been very few suggestions for the board’s cheap Old Kent Road property.

The makers of the Lincoln edition of the Monopoly board game received hundreds of suggestions for landmarks in the city, but they say there have been very few for the board’s Old Kent Road.

Some 22 property landmarks from the original London board are getting a Lincoln theme, with the Castle, Cathedral, the universities and even the level crossing vying for a spot on the board.

Peter Griffin, Monopoly Development Director for Winning Moves UK, who are producing the board under licence from Hasbro, said:

“We have been absolutely spoilt for choice. But there have been hardly any suggestions for an Old Kent Road equivalent.

“Perhaps the city is just too posh?” he said.

Other places in Lincoln with many votes were the football club, the city’s universities, and the level crossing.

A shopping centre in the city could be Oxford Street while a hotel could be Park Lane.

Voting closes at midnight on June 13. You can vote for landmarks by emailing [email protected].

The board will hit shop shelves this October in time for Christmas.
