New CCTV footage of the robbery at the James Usher & Son Jewellers has been released, showing the robbers using a footpath near Lincoln Arboretum, and the stolen car driving away. The robbers fled in a green Vauxhall Astra, registration number P56 WCN, which was later found abandoned on fire near Lindum Terrace.
The robbery took place in the morning of Saturday, May 15th, by two men acting as police forensic staff, donning white hooded boiler suits with dust masks covering their faces. About £80,000worth of jewels were stolen.
The first video shows the two robbers entering the jewellery shop, one remaining at the door, and the other one threatening the store assistant with a hammer, and putting valuables in a bag. The two men then quickly run out of the shop, with the assistant following them to the door.
