Lincoln to get fishy blast from the past

Accomplished artist: Ex-Marillion frontman Fish will be playing at the Terry O’Toole Theatre at the end of the month.

The Terry O’Toole theatre in North Hykem, Lincoln will be playing host to an intimate gig by ex-Marillion frontman Fish (pictured), on June 28th.

Fish, also known as Derek William Dick, has been in the entertainment industry for 25 years, as frontman to Scottish rock band Marillion, solo artist, lyricist, actor and radio show host.

Marillion were UK chart toppers in the 1980s, with hits such as Lavender, Kayleigh and Incommunicado. Fish left the band in 1988 to pursue a solo career.

Dick names himself Fish due to the amount of time he spends reading in the bath. His solo material has been described as quite wordy, with one music journalist saying his voice is a “conflation of Roger Daltrey and Peter Gabriel”.

Tickets are available now from the Terry O’Toole box office and cost £17.50. The act is open to all ages but under 14s must be accompanied by an adult.
