Pupils to set sail with Lincolnshire flag

Distinct Sailing: Two Lincoln pupils will be sailing for eight days with the Lincolnshire flag aboard a tall ship.

Two Lincoln pupils will be setting sail with the Lincolnshire flag, thanks to the Jubilee Sailing Trust.

Thomas Smith and Alex Harness from St Francis Community Special School will be climbing aboard the charity’s tall ship Tenacious (pictured) as part of the Lincolnshire Day festivities on October 1.

The pair will leave on the Sunday, and sail on one of the two remaining functioning tall ships for a total of eight days with the flag.

St Francis Community Special School of Wickenby Crescent caters specifically for children with mental or physical disabilities.

The Jubilee Sailing Trust is a charity which enables those with any kind of disability to sail on one of their two tall ships, Tenacious and Lord Nelson.

The ships have both been designed so both able-bodied and disabled people can enjoy being aboard the 37 and 44ft ships.
