Grenadier Guards march through Lincoln

Teary-eyed: Many people were overcome at the sight of the Grenadier Guards marching through Lincoln.

The Grenadier Guards marched through Lincoln city centre on October 21, as thousands lined the streets to see the popular London tourist attraction.

The 300 Grenadier Guards gathered in the City Square before their march.

They practised for about ten minutes ahead of the parade.

Some guards found it hard to look at the people around them.

The guards started lining up for the parade.

The assembly was complete and they left the City Square.

The guards last marched through Lincoln in 2008.

Mayor of Lincoln Geoff Kirby saluted the Grenadier Guards.

The Grenadier Guards went up to the Cathedral to lay their regimental colours.
