Bin collections to continue over Christmas

Service: The city council will be keeping services running as long as possible.

Services at the City of Lincoln Council will still be running over the Christmas break.

Refuse, recycling and green bin collections will be taken as usual between Christmas and New Year, so city residents should put their bins out at 7am.

Community Services Manager Caroline Pritchard said: “The only collections days that are missed in Lincoln are Christmas and New Year, both of which fall at the weekend this year.

“This is good news for the city, as it means all collections will go ahead as usual, weather permitting of course.”

City Hall will remain open until Christmas Eve, but then be closed on bank holidays (December 25 to 28 and January 1 to 3).

The Crematorium will also be closed for bank holidays but the Book of Remembrance will be open continually, with reduced opening hours.

Normal service will resume on January 4.
