Lincoln gets its Christmas cheer on

Festivities: Lincoln hosted several Christmas events to alleviate the economic effects of the Christmas Market cancellation.

Lincoln was swamped with festive cheer this weekend, with dashing Santas and alternative mini Christmas markets.

In the Bailgate, hundreds of people donned Santa outfits to take part in the national Great Santa Run. Runners included Lincoln MP Karl McCartney, dogs and infants.

All Santas taking part got a medal at the finish line.

Karl McCartney was one of the many runners.

The Alternative Christmas Market made its second return at The Healthy Hub on December 11 and 12, offering a wider range of stalls than previously.

Uphill, The Lawn hosted a mini-market named The Spirit of the Christmas Market. Visitors were treated to a hot climate and exotic plants while browsing stalls.

The Lawn event offered browsers a balmy 22℃℃ shopping thanks to its carefully managed tropical climate.
