Prezzo fire damages kitchen area

Hot pizza oven: A fire caused by extreme heat at Prezzo’s pizza oven caused severe damage to the kitchen area.

Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue were called at the Prezzo restaurant on the Brayford Waterfront on Saturday, after a fire broke out by the pizza oven.

Two fire engines from Lincoln attended the fire at about 8.10pm on February 19, putting out the blaze with a foam extinguisher.

The pizza oven at Prezzo is situated next to the main seating area and is open plan.

Although at the time of the fire the restaurant would have been open to customers, no one was reported hurt.

Fire and Rescue say the fire caused severe damage to a wood partitioning in the kitchen area.

Initial investigations show that the fire was caused by extreme heat from the restaurant’s pizza oven.

Prezzo Lincoln were not able to comment at the time of publishing.
