Boy George and Jedward to visit Lincoln

Summer series: A series of open air concerts will be taking place in Lincoln this year, featuring Status Quo, Boy George and Jedward.

Well-known music names will visit Lincoln this summer as part of the open air festival Midsummer Magic over a series of dates.

Boy George, Status Quo, Jedward, Stacey Soloman and Jason Donovan among others will be performing at the Lincolnshire Showground on May 1, July 23 or July 24.

Status Quo will form a warm-up for the concert series, while Boy George, along with guest such as Jason Donavan, will perform on July 23.

On the Sunday, audiences will be treated to X Factor nostalgia with Jedward and Stacey Solomon, as well as support from Abba Tribute act, Bjorn Again.

Tickets for each of the three different dates cost £32.50 (for adults) and doors open at 6pm, except the final date, where doors open at 5pm.

Audiences are also invited to bring picnics to the event, though there are food and alcohol stalls on site.

Originally, the Midsummer Magic event was held at Lincoln Castle, where the likes of Sugababes, McFly and Girls Aloud have performed.

However, Lincolnshire County Council scrapped the concerts.

Tickets for the event are on sale now, and can be bought from the official website or in person at Lincoln Theatre Royal.
