Burglar posed as police officer

Distraction: A man who posed as a police officer gained access to a city home and stole money.

A man who posed as a police officer gained access to a city home and stole money from the victim.

The incident happened at a property in Goldsmith Walk, Lincoln, between 4.15pm and 4.30pm on Tuesday, March 22.

A man called at the property and told the resident that he was a police officer.

He asked the victim to turn out his pockets and the victim placed the contents on the coffee table in the living room.

The offender then walked round the rooms of the house and left the victim in the bedroom while he returned to the living room.

After the man left the victim noticed that the money he had placed on the table had been taken.

The offender is described as a white man, aged in his mid 30s, of slim build and around 5′ 8″ to 5′ 10″ tall, wearing a brown jacket and dark trousers.
