Child hit by car on Long Leys Road

Knocked down: A 5-year-old child who was hit by a car on Long Leys Road on Monday is now recovering from minor injuries.

A 5-year-old child was knocked down by a car on Long Leys Road between the temporary traffic lights before 9am on Monday, March 14.

According to reports, the mother and her children came through the Common gate and one of her children ran onto the road.

The injured child was taken by ambulance to A&E at Lincoln County Hospital, together with the mother and the other two children who were with her.

The child is said to have suffered only minor injuries and is now recovering.

While the case is under investigation, Lincolnshire Police said they cannot confirm any other specific details regarding this incident.

Police attended the incident and blocked Long Leys Road to traffic for about 20 minutes (pictured above).

In a separate incident, the traffic lights on the road were not working due to a fault, which was rectified at 9.15am.
