City constructors in UK top 20 to work for

In the charts: Lindum was named as one of the top 20 companies in the UK to work for in the Sunday Times Best 100 Companies to Work For.

Lindum has been named as one of the top 20 companies in the UK to work for in the Sunday Times Best 100 Companies to Work For list in 2011.

The city-based company ranked 20th in The Sunday Times Best Mid-sized Companies to Work For Award 2011, with opposition from 1,165 organisations which involved surveying over 275,000 employees’ opinions.

Lindum topped the same charts in 2010 as well, when it ranked 10th.

Entry to the competition is based on confidential employee feedback via questionnaires – so employees get the chance to say what they really think.

Herman Kok, Financial Director at Lindum said: “20th place is brilliant.

“We have been the highest ranked Construction Company since 2005, which is an amazing achievement and reflects the fact that we truly do believe that “the difference is our people.”

Charles Bennett joined Lindum’s Plant Division 15 years ago as a Service Engineer and was one of the company’s 12 employees to attended the Awards Ceremony held in London.

“I have enjoyed coming to work everyday since I joined Lindum in1996 and, as part of my job I get to work on a diverse range of plant and equipment – I can be repairing the Gardener’s lawn mower in the morning and a 23 tonne excavator in the afternoon,” Bennett said.

Jonathan Austin, Founder & CEO of Best Companies Ltd said “more and more companies are switching on to employee engagement and the benefits it can bring, we are seeing British workplaces becoming better places to work each year.

“To be recognised as one of the 100 best, then, is truly an achievement to be proud of.”
