Lincoln youth theatre searching for talent

Talent: Fresh-faced talented youngsters are called to join a new youth theatre group.

A Lincoln theatre company is looking for talented youngsters to join their new youth theatre group.

Shooting Fish Theatre Company will give youngsters the chance to try new things such as puppetry or physical theatre and perform on stage and in the street.

Laura Kavanagh, the youth theatre director, is looking to find the talent hiding in the young people of Lincoln:

“I know thereʼs loads of young people throughout Lincoln with a real talent and passion for acting and theatre skills but feel thereʼs a real lack of opportunities for them to take part in developing new theatre and learning professional acting skills.

“This is our way of balancing that by launching the youth theatre that we wanted when we were young,” Kavanagh explained.

“Iʼm really excited to be launching a theatre group that offers young people the chance to take part in all aspects of making new theatre.

The youth theatre sessions will take place at the St Giles Community Centre, Swift Gardens, every Thursday, 6-8pm starting May 5.

The first session is free and applicants interested must be aged between 11-18.
