Man punched in Sincil Bank robbery attempt

Robbers hunt: Police are appealing for information after the attempted robbery of a couple in the street in Lincoln.

A man was treated in hospital for injuries to his face after he was punched in the face by men who were trying to rob him and his girlfriend.

This took place at around midnight last night outside the football ground in Sincil Bank.

The 18-year-old local man was walking along the road with a 19-year-old local woman when they were approached by two men who demanded property and cash.

When the couple said they had nothing the man was punched in the face. The offenders then fled the scene.

The 18-year-old man was taken to Lincoln County Hospital to be treated for minor facial injuries.

Both offenders were white and in their early 20s.

One was slim, but muscular and was wearing a grey or white hooded top. The other had short dark hair and was wearing dark clothing.

Lincolnshire Police are appealing for information on the attempted robbery, asking people with information to call them on 0300 111 0300.
