Top 5 picks at Lincoln Continental Market

Continental delights: Check out our top five picks before you shell out your hard-earned cash.

The Continental Food Market has returned to Lincoln High Street, kicking off to a mouth-watering start on Thursday, June 16.

Stalls representing popular destinations such as Germany, Italy, Ireland, France and Poland are laden with food to tempt your taste buds.

With so much variety, it may be hard to decide what to spend your hard-earned cash on, so to help your decision, here are The Lincolnite‘s top 5 food picks:

The Continental Market will remain in full swing throughout Friday, Saturday and Sunday (June 17, 18, 19), from 9am to 5pm.

Sicilian Cannoli

This Italian delicacy is comprised of a crispy shell of pastry filled to bursting with cool Ricotta cream. Although small, they are brimming with flavour, and at £1 each you can’t go wrong

Kangaroo Burger

Tasting similar to beef, these burgers contain less than 2% fat, have virtually no cholesterol, and have more protein than a chicken breast. At £3.50 a burger you’ll be bouncing down High Street to sink your teeth into one.

Hibernia Cheese

A two-year-old, very mature farmhouse cheese made in Fermoy. At £2.99 per 100g, it’s not only a steal, but you’ll also be supporting small cheese producers in Ireland.

Bigos

A traditional Polish dish consisting of fresh cabbage, a variety of meats including beef and pork, served in a mouth-watering tomato sauce. At £4.50 a portion, this is definitely not one to miss.

Green Thai Curry

Coconut cream, ginger, lemon grass, chicken fillet, green beans, and an undisclosed secret ingredient — all go into the best curry you’ll have in Lincoln this week. Rice or noodles are optional, and all for a very generous £4.50.
