Live customer information for city station

Better alerts: Lincoln Central Station will be benefiting from live information screens inside the station.

Passengers in the city will now benefit from better real-time information, following the addition of Customer Information Screens (CIS) in Lincoln Central Station.

The CIS comes after a £2.2 million joint investment programme by East Midlands Trains and Network Rail. Lincoln is one of the first stations to gain from the funding.

The screens are linked to East Midlands Trains’ Control Centre in Derby, where information to the CIS can be constantly updated.

Customer Information Manager for East Midlands Trains Rob Mason said: “We know how important it is for rail travellers to have easy access to fast and accurate information about their train service.

“The installation of these new screens, which use the latest digital technology, will make a big difference to our passengers.

“As the CIS screens are linked through to our control centre, our team will be able to keep them constantly updated with the latest information, meaning that passengers can easily keep a check of their train’s departure time.”

Kevin Preece, area general manager for Network Rail, said: “We know that getting timely, accurate information to passengers is a crucial part of their journey.

“This investment with East Midlands Trains will allow us to keep passengers better informed, allowing them to plan their journey more accurately.”
