New homes give Lincoln its own Oasis

New homes: Linden Homes is inviting members of the public to its new housing development ‘Oasis’.

A new housing development in the west of Lincoln, consisting of 255 homes, is preparing to open for viewings.

House builder Linden Homes has constructed the new Oasis housing development, situated off Carholme Road, opposite the Winning Post petrol station.

The developers are inviting members of the public to the opening day between 1pm and 4pm on Saturday, August 20.

A range of new dwellings will soon be completed with a mixture of two, three and four bedroom properties being built within the development.

The first phase will see homes priced from £134,995 to £159,995, which developers hope will be a hit with first-time home buyers.

A combination of apartments, two-storey homes and three-storey townhouses are aimed to target people with different budgets and the first homes are due for completion this Autumn.

The development boasts easy access to nearby city centre amenities and the train station, the A57 and A15 main roads out of the city are also close by. The River Witham, Carholme Golf Club and West Common are all within walking distance.

Property investors are also being urged to take into account the nearby University of Lincoln and Bishop Grosseteste College and consider a buy-to-let purchase to target the growing student rental market.

Saturday’s event is however, very much focussed on families, aiming to entertain children with a Pirates of the Caribbean theme and Simon Newton portraying Captain Jack Sparrow.

The event is said to be designed for potential family buyers to look around the new show homes while their children are entertained with free music, face painting, balloon modelling and fancy dress.

Director of Linden Homes, Steve Garton, said: “We are really excited about the highly anticipated official launch of the development and want to share it with as many people as possible”

Youngsters are also invited to wear pirate or princess costumes with ‘Captain Jack Sparrow’, Simon Newton, presenting prizes to the best outfits.
