Council offers residents free health checks

Body MOT: Residents can get their overall health assessed while they wait for services at the City Hall.

The City of Lincoln Council is offering free body MOTs at various city locations to help residents assess their health.

The council’s health trainers will carry out the tests, which include blood pressure, BMI (weight and height), lung efficiency and grip strength.

Lincoln residents can take part in the tests without any appointments at City Hall, Yarborough Leisure Centre or the Birchwood Access Centre.

Martin Carter, the City Council’s healthy lifestyles team leader, said: “Body MOTs are a great way to find out about your general health and be pointed in the right direction if you need professional advice.

“The added bonus of a drop-in service means that you can fit a Body MOT in around when ever is convenient for you.

“Body MOTs only take about ten minutes, so we hope people will come along while they’re waiting for other services,” Carter explained.
