Alec Maxfield worked at some of the best restaurants in the UK, including the two Michelin star Hambleton Hall in Rutland and The Fat Duck in Bray
Ahead of its opening later this year, The Electric Bar & Restaurant at DoubleTree by Hilton hotel will hold kitchen sessions at Lincoln College for two nights this month.
The upcoming restaurant’s recently appointed Head Chef, Alec Maxfield, will be treating guests of the pop-up restaurant with a selection of his dishes.
Maxfield will create a three-course menu made from local produce for 80 people invited to the event at the college’s Sessions restaurant.
Students can also benefit by taking part in catering and hospitality workshops by the chef and restaurant consultant Dan Ralley.
Director of Brayford Hotels Richard Farrar said: “We’re really pleased to be working with Lincoln College and looking forward to forging a mutually beneficial relationship with the staff and students, particularly on the catering and hospitality courses.
“The pop-up restaurant phenomenon has been taking the world by storm and we thought this would be a great way of bringing it to Lincoln and showcasing Alec’s outstanding modern British cuisine at the same time.”
Lincoln College’s Director of the School of Business Sue van Zyl added: “We are delighted to be involved in such an exciting event.
“Lincoln College enjoys many successful relationships with local employers and hopes the event marks the start of a successful relationship with DoubleTree by Hilton Lincoln.”
The event will be held on November 21 to 22, and guests will be able to make a donation towards more initiatives for student learning.
