Open top bus tales: Organisers of the open top tour bus are looking for Lincoln people with interesting stories about the city’s landmarks

The old Lincoln open top bus tour stopped operating in 2004

Organisers of the open top tour bus are looking for Lincoln people with interesting anecdotes and stories about the city’s landmarks and special places.

“Lincoln has some fine buildings, a wealth of history and fantastic modern
day attractions, Lincoln BIG Chief Executive Matt Corrigan said.

“We are sure that local people will have some interesting personal anecdotes about these, which will help to make our tour bus service unforgettable.”

As previously reported, Lincoln BIG and Stagecoach are behind the Easter comeback of the Lincoln open top bus tour, which last operated in 2004.

Visit Lincoln also plans attract more daytrippers and longer-staying visitors to Lincoln a “snapshot tour” tour of the city.

The bus will run for 110 days from Easter (three-day weekend), at May Bank Holiday, for the Jubilee, daily between July 1 and September 2 and at weekends until the end of October.

Lincoln’s Visitor Information Centre Manager Michele Sims said: “We are already being contacted by people who are keen to join our bank of tour guides, but we are pleased to hear from more.

“We hope people will let us have their anecdotes about their home city and its highlights because we feel these will help to make the open top tour bus an outstanding service.”
