Theft attempt at Lincoln train station ticket office

Attempted theft: Lincoln train station closed as police investigate attempted theft from ticket cash machines.

The Lincoln Central train station ticket office was closed until around 11am on Friday, February 17, after an attempted theft overnight.

Police officers at the station are investigating what appears to be an unsuccessful attempt to steal cash from the ticket machines.

The break in was reported by a member of staff at around 4.30am.

Trains have been running normally all morning, but the main entrance was closed and access to the station redirected through the side entrance.

Passengers could buy tickets on the train, while the ticket office reopened shortly after 11am.
