Man arrested over city college copper theft

Copper theft: A 19-year-old Lincoln man was arrested on suspicion of stealing copper from the city college.

Lincolnshire Police arrested a Lincoln man in the early hours of Wednesday on suspicion of stealing copper from Lincoln College.

Officers were called to the college at around 4am on February 15, after reports of an intruder on site stealing copper pipes.

A 19-year-old local man was arrested on suspicion of burglary. He is currently assisting police with their enquiries at Lincoln Police Station.

Police are urging residents to be vigilant and to report any suspicious activity on their roads, as several cases of metal thefts are being investigated.
