Police have charged a Lincoln man with stealing bike wheels and handling stolen goods in the city.

Kerry John Smith (46) of Sorrell Court has been charged with the theft of two wheels from a bike in the city on February 12 and handling stolen goods in relation to a Claude Butler mountain bike that was previously stolen in a burglary in the city.

He has been bailed to appear at Lincoln Magistrates Court on March 30.

Last week Adrian Johnson (25) of Yarborough Road was jailed for three months by Lincoln magistrates in relation to the theft of a bike in the city on February 27.

Lincolnshire Police also introduced a new scheme to help reduce the number of bicycle thefts in Lincoln, after a recent spike in thefts in the city.
