City leaders go under the business spotlight

Question time: Members of the business community are being invited to ask city leaders their questions.

A business networking club in Lincoln is inviting city firms to bring their questions to MP Karl McCartney and Leader of City of Lincoln Council Ric Metcalfe.

Lincoln Business Club will be hosting the Q&A session on April 27, which gives members a chance to discuss all their concerns.

The leaders will also outline their priorities for Lincoln and how they want the city to grow economically.

Karl McCartney (pictured left) said: “I’m looking forward to taking questions from the business community in our city and am grateful for the opportunity to listen to their views and comments on how the recent budget will affect them.

Ric Metcalfe (pictured right) said: “Growing the local economy is a top priority for the City of Lincoln Council.

“I am delighted to have the opportunity to discuss how we can achieve this with leading local business representatives.”

Karl McCartney was elected as the Conservative MP for Lincoln in 2010, and works alongside various charities, organisations and voluntary groups.

Labour councillor Ric Metcalfe has worked at the City Council since 1982, and was the leader between 1999 and 2007. He became the leader of the City Council again in 2011 after Labour regained control.

Members of the club can submit their questions for the pair either on the day or in advance by email.

Lincoln Business Club is held at 7am on the last Friday of every month at Lincoln City Football Club, boasting over 600 members.

You don’t have to be a member to attend a meeting, but entry will cost £3.
