Sneak-in burglar steals woman’s pension cash

More sneak-ins: Police are reminding people to lock windows at night after another burglary in Lincoln.

Lincolnshire Police is urging residents in Lincoln to make sure they lock their ground floor windows overnight after another sneak-in burglary.

An incident happened in the early hours of this morning, where an offender broke into a ground floor flat on Gaunt Street through a small bathroom window.

The offender went through the 74-year-old woman’s house, and left stealing a handbag containing her pension money.

This is the second time police are reminding residents in the past week, due to the sudden spate of warm weather.

Officers say opportunistic criminals look out for houses with open windows to target during warmer weather, undeterred by people being at home.

If anyone has information relating to thefts in the city, call Lincolnshire Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
