Lincoln accountants Wright Vigar have expanded by acquiring another city-based firm.

The accountancy firm bought McGregors Corporate on Doddington Road, meaning 400 more clients and a 20% growth.

The nine McGregors staff will join Wright Vigar’s 43 staff on Newland Street, so no jobs are lost.

The deal not only means McGregors is back under local ownership, but also a move for its corporate finance specialists Sunaxis to Wright Vigar’s Newark base.

Sunaxis Corporate Finance will now offer a service to WV clients looking to find overseas buyers for their company.

Chris Shelbourne, Managing Director of Wright Vigar said: “We are delighted to have acquired this local office, bringing what were previously Lincolnshire owned firms back into local control and securing local jobs.

“The team that are joining us have clients very similar to our own and share the same ethos of looking after their clients.

“In spite of the recession, we have found more businesses wanting to use us to help them deal with the pressures of the current economic situation and the added resource will help us and our clients continue to grow, despite challenging times.”

Marcus Wallis, senior client manager of the former McGregor team said: “Wright Vigar has a great reputation and we are very delighted to be joining them.

“Moving into a larger office will allow us access to more in-house resources, which will undoubtedly benefit our clients.

“We are particularly pleased that our team will remain intact and we will continue to look after the clients with whom we have built up relationships with over the years.”

Wright Vigar, founded in 1979, employs 82 people across Gainsborough, Newark, Retford, Sleaford and London.

Overall, the firm has 4,000 clients and has appeared in the Sunday Times Top 100 Small Companies to Work For list.
