Disruptions expected as busy road resurfaced

Road closure: A road in the south of the city will be shut for repairs over the next month, which may cause more traffic on nearby routes.

A busy road between North Hykeham and Lincoln is set to be closed for resurfacing, which could cause traffic disruptions.

The road will be closed from 6pm on June 16 until 11pm on June 17, 7am on June 24 to 11pm and 7am on July 8 to 11pm.

The work had been planned for February, but due to bad weather conditions was postponed.

The works on Station Road include a number of patches along its full length and will be resurfaced later in the year.

Diversions will be placed along Doddington Road, Tritton Road and Newark Road.

Residents and businesses along the road have been informed and will still be able to access the road. Pavements and the cyclepath will still be open.

Alan Brown, Area Highways Manager, said: “We’re carrying out these repairs to Station Road at weekends when the road is quieter to minimise disruption to motorists.

“Our priority is to ensure the roads are in a safe condition for people to use.”
