Police reward for info on Lincoln bike thieves

Ongoing problem: Police offering a £100 reward for information on bike thieves and those selling the stolen goods on.

Lincolnshire Police is offering a £100 reward for information on bike thieves and those selling the stolen goods on.

Despite several arrests, charges and conviction of bike thieves in Lincoln, the problem is ongoing.

In the last couple of weeks, bikes were stolen from Union Road, Lincoln County Hospital, Blossom Court, Lincoln College, Brayford Wharf, the University of Lincoln and its adjacent library.

DS Mark Johnson said: “A large number of high value bikes are still being stolen in the city despite several arrests and convictions.

“It is possible these bikes are being stolen to order and we really need people to come forward and tell us where they are being sold on.

“There will be people in the community who will know who is doing this and where it’s taking place.

“Any information you give us will be treated in the strictest confidence. Anyone giving any information leading to a conviction for theft, or handling stolen goods in relation to bikes will be given a £100 reward.”

Anyone with information can contact DS Mark Johnson at Lincoln Police Station via the 101 non emergency number.
