Boy injured in hit and run in Lincoln

Police search for driver: Nine-year-old boy from Lincoln sustained head injuries after we has involved in a hit and run in the city.

A nine-year-old boy from Lincoln sustained head injuries after he has involved in a hit and run in the city early on Wednesday.

This happened just before 9am on November 28 on Rosemary Lane, off Monks Road.

Two young boys were crossing the road when one was in collision with a vehicle which failed to stop.

One of the boys, aged nine years old, sustained injuries and was taken to Lincoln County hospital.

He had slight head injuries and some bruising, but his injuries were not serious. The other boy was uninjured.

The collision occurred when a vehicle was reversing out from the Spa buildings and into Rosemary Lane.

The boys were crossing the road behind it and it is believed that one of them was struck by the car and fell into the road.

It is believed that the vehicle was a dark coloured car with blackened windows. The vehicle drove off down Rosemary Lane towards St. Rumbold’s Street.

Police attended and conducted extensive enquiries in the area. A vehicle has been recovered and will be subject to forensic examination.

Enquiries are ongoing and police are asking anyone who was in the area and who witnessed the incident to come forward.

Also, they would like to hear from anyone who saw a dark vehicle with blackened windows driving in the area at around 9am on the morning of Wednesday, November 28.
