Lincoln man killed in A17 road collision named

Fatal incident: A Lincoln man has died after a serious collision on a Lincolnshire road Kirkby La Thorpe.

A Lincoln man who died following a road collision on the A17 near Kirkby La Thorpe on November 10 has been named.

Michael Thomas Foster (60) of Larne Road, Lincoln, died in Pilgrim Hospital at Boston due to his injuries sustained in the collision.

The incident took place at around 3:52pm, near the eastern end of the Sleaford Bypass. Foster, who who was travelling in his beige Citroen Xsara Picasso with his wife (62) towards Sleaford.

As a line of traffic approached travelling towards Boston, Foster was involoved in a head-on collision with a silver Vauxhall Vectra. The Vectra was driven by 55-year-old man from the Thurby area.

Both Foster’s wife and the Vectra driver are currently detained at Pilgrim Hospital being treated for injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.

An inquest into Foster’s death will be opened and adjourned in due course.

Meanwhile, Lincolnshire Police are urging witnesses to come forward. Police are particularly keen to speak to occupants of a black Honda Civic which was in the line traffic.
