Power cut leaves 1,900 Lincoln residents without power

Power cut: Some residents in the Newark Road area of Lincoln were left without power on Wednesday afternoon.

Almost 1,900 residents in Lincoln and North Hykeham were left without power after a power cut in the south of the city on Wednesday afternoon.

The power cut started at approximately 4.10pm on April 10 and affected around 1,900 residents the Newark Road area.

Power for around 1,000 of the households was restored within a few minutes.

Traffic lights were reported to be out on the Cross O’Cliff Hill and St Catherine’s junction due to the power cut.

For over 800 households, the power cut lasted up until 5pm, while others had fluctuating power.

Western Power Distribution engineers addressed the problem by 5.15pm, but the cause is presently unknown.
