Police appeal for witness after woman allegedly assaulted

Assault case witness: Police are appealing for a witness who helped a young woman take a taxi to hospital in Lincoln at the weekend.

Police are investigating an alleged assault of a woman in her late 20s in Lincoln at the weekend.

Some time between midnight on August 2 and 1.30am on Saturday, August 3 a woman in her late 20s went into the Shell garage on Burton Road in Lincoln.

The woman told a man in the queue that she had been assaulted, Lincolnshire Police said in a statement.

The man in the queue at the petrol station helped the young woman by waiting for a taxi to take her to hospital.

Officers are now appealing for the man in question to come forward to help them with their enquiries.

He is asked to call PC Graham Lawrence on 101 quoting incident number 84 of August 3, 2013.
