Police probe into inmate’s murder at Lincoln Prison

Murder probe: Lincolnshire Police are investigating a murder of an inmate at Lincoln Prison and a man has been arrested.

Lincolnshire Police are investigating the murder of an inmate at Lincoln Prison. A man has already been arrested.

Police were called to HMP Lincoln at 6.08am on Thursday morning after a report that a 73-year-old man had died in the early hours.

A Prison Service spokesperson said: “HMP Lincoln prisoner Alan Goode was found by staff in his cell at around 5:45am on October 31.

“An ambulance attended and he was pronounced dead at the scene.”

A murder investigation has been launched and a 35-year-old man – understood to have been sharing a cell with Goode – has been arrested in connection with the incident.

He is currently assisting police with their enquiries. Latest: The man has been bailed + coroner’s report

Alan Goode was from Wigston. He was jailed for voyeurism for nine months in October after he was found in the women’s toilets in a Leicester shopping centre spying on women.
