For the first time, Lincolnshire County Council’s CallConnect bus service will operate on each Sunday in December, up to Christmas Day.
To celebrate the launch, CallConnect booking centre staff gathered at Lincolnshire County Council Witham Park House on November 6 dressed in festive costumes.
For the first time, CallConnect passengers will be able to take advantage of full Sunday services and pre-book trips around the network.
The Sunday service will operate from 9.30am to 5.30pm and bookings can be taken from Saturday November 23.
The CallConnet Booking Centre will also be open for bookings from 10am to 4pm on each Sunday in December, and 9.30am to 4.30pm for cancellations and emergencies.
CallConnect Manager Paul Sanders said: “For most people, December is one of the busiest months of the year and we want to help our customers get into the Christmas spirit.
“The scheme will help people to shop, see relatives and friends, and to access a whole range of festive fun from seasonal fairs and markets to carol services and pantomimes.”
Executive Councillor for Highways and Transportation, Richard Davies, said: “I am pleased to launch this addition to CallConnect – which is a vital service for our rural communities and market towns.
“After more than ten years of rising passenger numbers and national acclaim, CallConnect is always on the lookout for new ways to help customers meet their travel needs, especially in rural or remote communities throughout Lincolnshire.”
