Revamped New Look opens in Waterside shopping centre

A New Look: The revamped New Look store in Lincoln’s Waterside Shopping Centre opened after redevelopment.

The revamped New Look store in Lincoln’s Waterside Shopping Centre opened on Friday, December 6.

The fashion chain store was closed from November 30 to undergo reconfiguration and expansion work as part of the Waterside’s multi-million redevelopment project.

As part of the revamp, New Look’s store expanded from 12,000 sq ft to 14,000 as well as a refreshed image.

The new store reopened at 10am and celebrated by gifting the first 100 customers free goody bags.

Julie Law, Holding Manager at New Look, said: “In the run up to Christmas customers can look forward to the launch of our new menswear department, which will include footwear, accessories and the brand new range of menswear coming into the store, which is a big thing for us.

“We’d like to say thank you to all of our customers for bearing with us. This has been a long project, it’s been six months in the running so we’ve all been waiting for it and we hope they enjoy our new store as much as we will.”

General Manager at the Waterside, Roy Greening said: “The re-opening of the New Look store is the first tangible element of our vision for the Waterside Shopping Centre that our shoppers can experience.

“The first phase of the redevelopment is coming to a close and it’s very exciting to see new units opening up in time for Christmas.

“The Waterside is at the heart of the city and this multi-million pound project is already breathing new life into the centre, which is set to continue as we work towards the opening of the new H&M and Next stores in 2014.

“When we took over the centre in 2011, shoppers told us that they wanted to see H&M and an Apple store in the city and we are now delivering on that and bringing sought after retailers to Lincoln.”
