Shoplifting arrests: Two local women have been arrested on suspicion of thefts worth £1,500 from Lincoln shops.

Two local women have been arrested on suspicion of thefts from Lincoln shops.

A 21-year-old local woman and a 20-year-old local woman were arrested after the alleged theft of £1,500 worth of goods, including perfume, from city shops.

The arrests were made after security staff stopped the suspects outside Debenhams in St Mark’s Street at around 3.30pm on Sunday, December 8.

Goods believed to be stolen from Debenhams and other High Street shops were recovered from a child’s pushchair the women were using.

The two local woman were arrested on suspicion of theft and have been released on police bail pending further enquiries until January 20, 2014.
