The county’s best growers, producers and culinary businesses were recognised at the 2014 Select Lincolnshire Food, Drink and Hospitality Awards.
The 13 category winners collected their certificates at a ceremony held at The Petwood Hotel in Woodhall Spa on February 6.
Among local businesses to scoop top prizes were The Green Room Restaurant at the Lincoln Hotel, Lincoln Minster School, The Dairy Barn in Ingham and Hemswell Court.
In the People’s Choice category, organisers received over 600 recommendations through a public vote.
The winning business, Mountain’s Boston Sausage, gained 151 votes.
Receiving ‘highly commended’ in the People’s Choice awards were lincoln-based Angel’s Desserts and The Lincoln Hotel also received ‘highly commended’ for their category.
The annual awards are run by Select Lincolnshire for Food, who commend the businesses and people behind the county’s billion pound food and farming industry
The ceremony was delivered by the Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce in partnership with Lincolnshire County Council.
The awards were sponsored by Lincolnshire Co-operative, Roythornes Solicitors and Lincolnshire Showground.
Councillor Colin Davie, Executive Member for Economic Development, said: “My congratulations go to all the winners at this year’s Select Lincolnshire Awards.
“We think Lincolnshire’s food and drink is worth shouting about, and these awards are an important way of celebrating the best the county has to offer.
“We’ll continue to do all we can to spread the message far and wide, strengthening our reputation as one of the UK’s top food spots.”
Gillian Richardson, Business Development Manager for Select Lincolnshire for Food, added: “The panel of judges found it a real challenge deciding on the winners because the competition was so tough and the quality of entries grows each year.
“Winning such a prestigious county award is a great achievement. I would like to thank all the businesses for the valued contribution they make to Lincolnshire’s renowned food, drink and hospitality industry.”
