Search continues for absconding convicted killer from Lincoln

Absconding for almost a month: Police are still searching for a convicted killer from Lincoln who absconded from an open prison in Wales.

Welsh and local police are still searching for a convicted killer from Lincoln who absconded from an open prison almost a month ago.

Christopher Woodward (44), who also uses the name Christopher Hunter, absconded from HMP Prescoed at around 8.44am on Friday, January 17.

Woodward was serving a life sentence for killing his girlfriend Jo-ann Noble in Lincoln in August 1999. The conviction was later reduced to manslaughter.

Gwent Police believe he may have made his way back to Lincolnshire, as he still has contacts in the area.

But despite a continued police search for Woodward, there have been no reported sightings.

It is believed there may be a potential risk to the public due to the fact that he is no longer in prison.

Woodward is described as being white, 5ft 10 inches tall and of medium build.

He is clean shaven and has short cropped brown hair and blue eyes. He was wearing blue jeans, blue shoes and a black bomber jacket when he absconded.

If anyone sees him they are advised not to approach him but to call Lincolnshire Police on 101 and quote incident number 289 of January 18, 2014.
