Lincoln construction firm top to work for in the UK

Lincoln-based firm Lindum has been named as the top construction company to work for in the UK by the Sunday Times.

Lindum also ranked 15th in the Sunday Times Best 100 Companies to Work For.

The list is based on research from the largest survey of its kind and this year nearly 900 organisations took part and 250,000 employees were surveyed.

Sixteen Lindum employees attended the awards ceremony at Battersea Events Arena in London on February 27.

Lindum was presented with a special award in recognition of the highest average ranking in the ‘Best Companies To Work For’ list for the past ten years.

The company also scored highly in the categories for wellbeing, leadership and giving something back.

Among key factors highlighted was a scheme where staff are encouraged to have their say, and the free share scheme that gives employees a personal stake in the company.

Kim Maure, Customer Services Manager for the Lindum’s Construction Division, said: “I think it’s like the business equivalent of the BAFTAs but this time it’s the employees’ votes that count.”

“To be in the winning top 15 companies is itself an incredible achievement but this year’s award means Lindum has been listed in the ‘top 20’ companies consistently now since 2008, which is fantastic for our construction company.”

Lindum Chairman David Chambers added: “We employ a wide range of people in various locations and numerous occupations, from skilled tradesmen on our building sites to office based support staff, so it’s quite remarkable and very rewarding to get such positive feedback from our employees.

“To be listed in the top 100 companies in the UK is an added bonus and not something we ever take for granted.”
