Second medal for Jade Etherington at Winter Paralympics

Second medal: Jade will bring home a second medal for her performance in the Sochi Winter Paralympics.

Lincoln Paralympic athlete Jade Etherington has won her second medal for Great Britain at the Sochi Winter Paralympics.

As previously reported, the trainee teacher won silver in the downhill skiing on March 8.

Then on March 10 she managed to get the bronze in the visually impaired Super-G skiing event, with Team GB’s Kelly Gallagher taking the gold — Britain’s first.

Alongside her guide Caroline Powell, Jade finished with a time of 1:29.76 after recovering from hitting a pole in the initial stages of the competition.

Jade suffers from glaucoma and Axenfeld Syndrome.

She will next compete with Powell in the slalom event on March 14.
