Breastfeeding website launched to help Lincolnshire mums

Feeding tips: Tips and help with breastfeeding is now available to mothers and families in Lincolnshire thanks to an NHS trust website.

Tips and help with breastfeeding is now available to mothers and families in Lincolnshire, thanks to an NHS trust website.

The website, which was launched by Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust (LCHS), coincides with celebrations for World Breastfeeding Awareness Week, which runs from August 1-7.

Details about feeding patterns, cues, how to express and how to support your partner are among the top tips available on the site.

The site has been developed with insight from the trust’s infant feeding coordinators, and the experiences of members of the county’s Breaststart groups.

Parents Angela and Craig Doyle from Lincoln were among the first to try out the website.
They said: “This is a fantastic website. It’s clear and easy to use and has everything you need to know all in one place. It provides peace of mind for any new parent.”

Mandy Street, Infant Feeding Coordinator at LCHS, said: “I would like to thank everyone who has worked in partnership to produce this eye-catching website.

“We are delighted to be able to recognise the importance of enabling mothers and their families to have easy access to current breastfeeding information.

“This will help them to continue to enjoy their breastfeeding experiences for longer and gain all of the associated health benefits.”
