After a once in a lifetime Lincoln Cathedral turret tour attracted such a high demand, the Works Department have managed to fill places for a second day.

The tours, which promised views of Lincoln from the North West turret scaffolding as part of the structures’s £1.12 million restoration, will not be available for at least another 100 years.

Some 50 places were allocated for the first event which is set for August 22. Now, organisers of the event have filled a second day next week , meaning 90 people will now be able to climb the 135 foot scaffolding.

A large waiting list is also in place and people will be contacted should any more spaces on the tours become available.

The Lincoln Cathedral events team say that they are also looking into the possibility of further tours in the future.
