Tributes paid to Lincoln teenager killed in moped crash

Fatal crash: Family and friends have paid their tributes to a Lincoln teenager who died after his moped left the road.

Family and friends have paid their tributes to Lincoln teenager Jacques Mayo, 16, who died after his moped left the road in the early hours of Sunday, September 21.

The crash happened on the B1241 Saxilby Road near the Sturton by Stow village, between Lincoln and Gainsborough.

He was taken by ambulance to Lincoln County Hospital, but sadly died later in hospital from the injuries sustained.

Flowers, messages, and items such as chocolate biscuits and energy drinks have been left as tributes at the scene of the incident.

The teenager is believed to have lived in the village near the city and attended Christ’s Hospital School in Lincoln.

In a message attached to a floral tribute, the teenager’s parents wrote: “Words cannot describe how much our hearts are breaking. You were the kindest, caring son, always happy and planning the next prank; that was you and wouldn’t have changed for anything.”

Jacques’ sisters also wrote in a message: “Your smile was warmer than the sun and you made us all better people simply by being you. You touched the lives of everyone you met and you will never be forgotten.”

Lincolnshire Police continue their investigations into the incident.
