A15 resurfacing works lead to nine-night closure

Diversions in place: The A15 near Spital in the Street will be closed for nine nights for resurfacing starting next week.

The A15 near Spital in the Street, just outside Lincoln, will be closed for nine nights for resurfacing starting Monday night, October 6.

The works will be carried out from 7pm to 7am starting Monday, October 6 until Tuesday, October 14.

The A15 will be closed from the junction with the B1205 to the A631 Caenby Corner roundabout, with access for residents only.

While the B1205 Grayingham junction is being resurfaced on the first night, traffic will be diverted via the B1206, B1398 and the A631.

During the rest of the works, the diversion will be via the B1205, B1398 and the A631.

The works are part of a county-wide £3.6m Department of Transport-funded programme that will be completed by next spring.

Area Highways Manager at Lincolnshire County Council, Steve Wiles, said: “These works will improve the failing surface of the road, extending its life for many years, and by completing them at night we’ll keep any traffic disruption to a minimum.”
